Source: 鞠健夫的私媒体's blog  | CHI-ENG : Jiko @2pmalways

Last year I started a charity drive to help kids in Qinghai to have new clothes and received overwhelming response.

Once again, I started another charity drive to help kids staying in mountainous areas to have new desks and beds.

News was spread though the internet and was make known to Korean Boyband 2PM. As they are going to hold their asia tour concert in China, the boys showed their interest in this charity drive and had donated part of the earnings of the concert to it.

At the press conference, the boyband personally handed to me their donation of RMB$30,000. And had also brought from Korea, 2 two big bags of books and stationaries.

1stvacation in 4 years

I’m coming!

I’ve decided to go to Ethiopia when it’s already been around 7 or 8 months since I’ve begun sponsoring Felmeta. I was beginning to feel weary of the busy everyday life, and it almost felt like I was about to lose myself. Even though I like my job, I think everyone has experienced a slump while doing something over and over again. It was about then when had a talk with Bongwon-hyung (JYP Sound Engineer) about “What is real happiness?”. We shared ideas about how we still need to try in order to do or acquire things that would make us happy – live liking your own work, meet good people, buy a house, a car, all the little things to the very tiniest detail. However, since I’ve always wanted to return the love I was receiving the topic of our conversation naturally changed towards child support. Back then I distinctly remember myself saying “So let’s find time and go visit the children we support someday.”

After having consulted with World Vision, I’ve promised to get some free time somehow, but deep inside I was worried nevertheless, because our schedule was extremely heavy. “Would the impact be greater if we went after having received bigger acknowledgment, or should we just go now, because it’s not certain when we would be able to do that again?” – and so the answer was set, because I thought this was the chance to spend my time meaningfully. And so, we left for Ethiopia in the evening of January 16th.

2PM’s Chansung admits he has the best body amongst the members

ALLKPOP: 2PM member Chansung revealed his killer abs on ‘Radio Star‘.

Entertainer Cho Young Goo, composer Joo Young Hoon, singer Jun Hae Bin, and 2PM’s Chansung guest-featured on the ‘Athletic Body’ special of MBC‘s ‘Radio Star’ on February 29th.

In regards to why Chansung was chosen to be on the show amongst the 2PM members who all happen to be incredibly fit, MC Yoo Sae Yoon guessed that Chansung seemed like he had the most free time, and he would be one to throw out hilarious, thoughtless answers.

Chansung responded,”Both your guesses are correct. I had a free slot in my schedule, so I came here.”

And when asked who was the most buff 2PM member, Chansung answered, “It depends, it’s a different member all the time.”

Jun Hae Bin then added that the member with the most time on their hands should have the best body, and Chansung acknowledged her statement by saying, “Right now, I have the best body,” causing everyone to erupt in laughter.

"Hello, I'm 2PM's Junho…I contacted you because I wanted to help a child…"

That was how Junho's first connection with World Vision started.
Calling in person to say that he was interested in sponsoring a foreign child.
After quietly sponsoring them for about a year, another phone call came.

"I…want to go to Ethiopia to meet Felmeta, how can I do that?"

In his first vacation time in 4 years, to Africa to meet the person he most wanted to see in the whole world.

When World Vision puts a public figure in charge of goodwill or international relations usually we first suggest the idea to the star's manager or management company, but Korea's most popular idol group, 2PM's Junho called me first instead.

Amongst Korea's busiest people are idol singers. I knew that they always have a lot of schedules abroad and not much time in Korea either, so I thought of asking frankly "Can you really go? Can you use up a whole week to meet a sponsored child?". But the next time I spoke with Junho I realised that those thoughts were completely groundless.

"I received permission from management for a vacation starting a week from the 16th of January!
I arranged it with my manager hyung so that I could go to Africa ^^"

Junho was always one step ahead of us,

Before leaving for Ethiopia, we arranged to have two orientation meetings. The first meeting. He had arranged to meet us at World Vision's headquarters in Yeoido with his manager, but even though the meeting time was arranged for early morning he arrived right on time. Second meeting. The meeting was once again arranged for the morning, but he arrived about 10 minutes before us. As you can never be late for meetings with celebrities, and even though I arrived earlier than our arranged meeting time I was so surprised to see Junho already there waiting for us.

We cautiously suggested to EBS doing a newly planned "Global Project Sharing" programme. Our helper Junho was worried about whether there was any chance of causing damage or inconveniencing the residents of Ethiopia due to the filming. After worrying for a while, we thought that even if one person who had seen the broadcast could help a child in difficulty it would be great, and so decided with the broadcast team to go through with it. Of course, under the condition that the staff would cause the minimum amount of disruption there.

        Finally, depaaaarture!

If a celebrity is going to help out somewhere, a lot of people look at them a bit funny. "Are you going to get there by flying business class?" "Some more money to spend in duty free would be more helpful…" "Why are you bringing your coordi and make up artist into the wilderness with you, are you shooting a pictorial?". Our helper Junho's visit to Ethiopia to help the children would shatter those sort of public prejudices. Now in earnest we depaaart!

[Eng] Junsu's Cyworld

Before I even knew it, it's already been a month since the passing of my father.

The time flew by in a blink and I was so busy I couldn't even afford to be sad.

When I look back at it now, everything seems like a dream, it is like as if I'm still dreaming.

Taking care of my father's affairs, moving houses, arranging the related documents...

Since it was a new experience for me, since I was doing it for the first time as a new head of the household more than ever did it feel like going forward with tightly clenched teeth.

When I think of the funeral, I am sincerely thankful to everyone who didn't let my father feel lonely on his last journey.

I have understood that there is still plenty of warmth in this harsh world.

Although I keep telling myself that I have to become stronger, the huge emptiness would strike me again and again.

It never rains but it pours, because right after it is followed by a futile feeling leaving my heart stunned.

Even today, as I suppress questioning the sudden passing of my father, I cast my dreams away.

Unkind everyday and social lives have separated us for 8 years.

And all that there is left now is regret.

How was I supposed to know that a time given to spend with you was only up till then.

The world is cold, but it's warm. Yet even though it's warm, it's cold.
